Fortekor contains the active ingredient benazepril. Benazapril is an ACE inhibitor blocking the activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone-system (RAAS). In dogs it is used to treat congestive heart failure.

Fortekor should be given orally once daily, with or without food. The duration of treatment is unlimited.

Fortekor 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 20 mg tablets are flavoured and are taken voluntarily by most dogs.
